Park in Progress III - Let your senses arise
Autor admin
Park in Progress is the public event that show what the people at Art4eu are doing. This is a fantastic place, both physically and in what they do. It’s a place near Paris called Marly le Roi (about 30 minutes by train) in an enormous park (hence the name) with a kind of castle, many trees… Their job is to help the young generation of artists spreading their talent by helping them move around europe or sometimes the world and create with other artists. This is not just a concept : it really works, there’s a feeling of share out there, artists are happy to give their work in progress, people are enthusiast about discovering new artists and they even take you back home for free! When you get in, the park is already filled with artists and installations, it makes people want to go everywhere, everyone lives a different experience. Last year it was a bit different but nice as well : people were taken from place to place in the park to see every performances. This year was like this only for the night part where everybody could enjoy one show at a time and avoid running. I personally enjoy this park a lot, because when I was young I remember spending a few days there to be part of a short film festival jury and last year I had some friends showing their film and playing the score live there too. As said above the artists take some risks as they show their work in progress, they come to the park about 1 week before the opening and try to feel what could be a good performance and where it should take place, often the performances are not confined to one place or time, some are linked in different spaces, and last all night in different forms. I tried to show that in my video. It lasts about 15 minutes and is available in different formats.
